How To Use Content Marketing To Improve Sales Funnel Conversions

We’ve all been there. Listening to countless webinars with ‘marketing gurus’ talking about the importance of putting more content out into the public to attract an audience. They keep on telling us to publish content every day whether you feel like it or not just so that you get your brand out there to your target audience. They even go to the extent of saying that you should keep on publishing content even if you feel you have nothing to write or share about just to be constant in your content production.

I disagree with this! If you want to make content marketing work for your business, you got to learn how to publish content that will help to improve your sales funnel conversions! Otherwise, it’s going to be pointless spending all that precious time producing content for your audience.

Just ask anybody who has decided to buy something, especially if it’s an expensive product or service – “Did you just wake up one day thinking about buying that thing and magically went to buy that thing without hesitation?” The answer will probably be a – “No!”

A buyer usually goes on a journey. They call this the ‘buyer’s journey’. This is a process whereby a person goes on a journey of researching and evaluating the situation that he or she is in before deciding on whether or not it is the right move to buy a particular product or service.

If you want to use content marketing, you need to understand what sort of content to produce as well as when and where to share that content to improve your sales.

Although ‘impulse buys’ do happen, most consumers will begin their buyer’s journey at a stage when they are unaware of the need to buy a particular product or service.

But when a triggering event happens, they start to become aware of the urgency to solve a particular challenge or ‘pain’ that they have. This will encourage them to go on a journey to discover potential solutions to what they are facing.

So if you put out content without proper planning, you will fail to connect with your audience in a way that will encourage them to go on a path to ultimately realising that your products and services are the best solutions to their challenges. This will make you lose out on sales!

What Is Content Marketing?

If you’re wondering what content marketing is, it is a strategy used to promote businesses through creating and sharing content. For example, you may create blog posts, YouTube videos, infographics, cheat sheets, free training, webinars, social media posts, newsletters and other sorts of content to share with your target customers in hopes to convert them into paying customers.

When you use content marketing to attract people to your business and eventually turn them into paying customers, you are using a content marketing sales funnel.

Why Is Content Marketing So Important?

Unlike ‘hard sell’ techniques that are no longer working in today’s world, content marketing is one of the best ‘soft sell’ methods that you can use to stay in touch with your potential and current customers so that they will remember your brand and make purchases from you.

The way content marketing works is that it utilizes content to connect to customers by providing useful information that either entertains, informs, educates or assists them to solve a pressing problem.

When this connection is made, customers will feel that sense of trust that will lead them towards deciding to purchase from you.

However content marketing will only work if you share the right sort of content to your customers according to what stage they are at in their buyer’s journey.

The 4 Phases In A Sales Funnel

There are typically 4 phases in a sales funnel. And to help you understand how content marketing can be incorporated into your sales funnel, I’m going to list down each stage with some explanations and examples of potential types of content that you can produce and share to help you strengthen your funnels for better sales conversions.

Phase 1: Top of the Funnel – Discovery

This is a crucial phase in your sales funnel because it’s all about getting your brand name out there. At this stage, your target audience may not have heard about you.

In this phase, you would want to produce educational or viral content that will be able to grab your target customers’ attention. You can create content that answers some of their burning questions, especially questions about the challenges that they think they might be having.

Some of your target audience may not even be aware that they have a problem that they need to solve. So your content should address the situation that they are in and the potential problem they could be facing.

At this stage, you wouldn’t want to talk about your brand too much. Just focus on educating and informing your target audience for free and make them curious about your brand so they’ll want to find out more about your brand.

This is a time when you need to make them interested in the topics that your business is specialising in!

Even if they don’t opt-in to your email list, when they see more and more content produced by you, they’ll start to remember your brand and associate you as a thought leader in your industry.

Examples of content that you can produce are:
• Blog posts
• YouTube videos
• Cheat sheets
• Free reports
• Email newsletters
• Webinars
• Podcasts
• Comprehensive guide books
• Social media posts

Phase 2: Middle of the Funnel – Consideration

Once your target audience consumes your content at the ‘discovery’ stage, they will begin to associate your brand with the industry that you’re in.

At this stage, they would have become aware of the potential problems that they are facing and would be looking for possible solutions for their challenges.

The fact that they already recognise your brand as a thought leader in your industry will help because they will be open to your recommendations for solutions for their challenges.

You can introduce them to the products and services you offer as the solutions for their pressing problems.

To make them more confident in your products and services, you can provide them with the following information so that they can evaluate your offerings to see if they are a good fit for their challenges:
• Product demonstration videos
• Case studies showing people in similar situations solving their problems with your products or services
• Product descriptions
• How-to tutorials that demonstrate how your products or services can help them
• Product reviews from customers who have bought from you

There are many ways you can reach out to the people who have consumed your content from the ‘discovery’ stage. You can either capture their details and showcase relevant content in the ‘consideration’ stage through:
• Follow-up emails
• Social media posts
• Remarketing/retargeting campaigns

Phase 3: Bottom of the Funnel – Conversion

Finally, after moving your target audience through the ‘discovery’ and ‘consideration’ stages, you need to invite them to purchase your products or services.

I know that many may find this stage difficult because it takes courage to ask people to buy from you. But conquering this stage is absolutely necessary if you want to stay in business!

Your target audience must know that your products or services are available and they can buy them. And they should also be given precise information that will help them to understand how to buy from you.

At this stage of the funnel, there might be some people who are on the fence in deciding whether or not it’s worth purchasing from you.

You need to give them the confidence, knowing that it is the best option to buy from you and not anybody else!

The following content will help you to convince your potential customers to make that decision to purchase from you:
• Customer testimonials
• Unbiased customer reviews
• Explanation about what to expect after making a purchase
• Information about the uniqueness of your products and services
• Guidance on how to make the purchase (step-by-step!)

Phase 4: Beyond the Funnel (After Sales Conversions Happen) – Retention

Hurray! Now at this stage, you’re finally getting people to pay for your products and services. That’s great. But your sales funnels do not just end here.

If you want your business to continue growing, you need to be able to nurture your existing customers who have bought from you in the past.

You need to cultivate a good relationship with them so that they will continue to remember you and buy from you in the future. Plus, you might even get them to pass on the news about your products and services to other people whom they know!

So do not skip this stage!

When building a relationship with your existing customers, you may want to consider providing them with the following content:
• Email newsletters
• Retargeting / remarketing campaigns
• Special offers
• Loyalty program information
• Onboarding information / manuals
• Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) information on product/service usage
• Live chat/chatbot services
• Access to referral programs and information and how to join these programs

Multi Channel Marketing For Beginners

Want to grow your business faster on the internet? Then you’d definitely want to consider doing multi channel marketing because it’s the fastest way to reach more target customers in a short span of time – even if you’re just a beginner.

To help you understand what multi channel marketing is all about and how to implement it in your business, I’ve specially written this article for beginners in online marketing.

What Is Multi Channel Marketing?

Multi channel marketing is the practice of interacting with your potential customers and customers through different channels.

These channels can be both online and offline communication channels.

In today’s digital world, consumers are choosing to receive information and make purchases with the communication channels that they are most comfortable with.

With multi channel marketing, you will be able to interact directly and indirectly with your customers practically 24/7 by meeting them at their point of need and at the channel of their choice.

You can choose practically any communication channels to do your multi channel marketing strategy.

You can communicate with your target customers through emails, direct mail, pay-per-click (PPC) advertisements, social media, online landing pages, eCommerce stores, physical shops (eg, retail stores), catalogues, direct mail, SMS messaging, promotional events, word-of-mouth or mobile apps.

Examples of Multi Channel Marketing

There are many instances where we can use multi channel marketing to give a boost to our marketing campaigns.

If you’re looking to do multi channel marketing using online communication channels, you can easily create a strategy that will appeal to the following channels at the same time with ease:
YouTube / Instagram
Blog / Pinterest
Computer / Mobile Device
Pay-Per-Click Ads / Online Landing Pages
YouTube / Blog
Twitter / Blog

The Benefits Of Having A Multi Channel Strategy

Building a multi channel strategy for your business can be advantageous because it will increase the exposure of your brand to a larger pool of potential customers and customers through different channels.

By having more customer touchpoints, you will also be able to collect more data about the preference and behaviour of your target customers. So this can be put to great use to improve your future marketing campaigns.

With this method, you also provide your customers to buy and interact with you using the medium of their choice. This will give them greater customer experience and satisfaction – so this will encourage them to buy from you more!

Also, target customers who spend their time using multiple communication channels will be more likely to spend more time reading and understanding your brand. This will encourage brand loyalty!

What Are The Limitations Of Multi Channel Marketing?

However, multi channel marketing does come with its limitations.

As a startup or solopreneur, businesses may find creating messages for multiple channels a little bit too time-consuming. So rather than concentrate on so many communication channels, it’s best for them to start out with concentrating on just 2 channels first before moving on to implementing strategies in other channels.

Another challenge that entrepreneurs may face is being able to create a consistent look, experience and message across all the different channels. This is especially the case when an entrepreneur outsources his or her work without giving proper guidance on the look, feel and brand message to virtual assistants or freelancers.

When marketing messages are not created with a consistent look, feel and brand message, your potential customers will be frustrated and confused. This will make them opt-out from receiving more information from you.

The Best Ways To Implement Multi Channel Marketing For Beginners?

So how can you do multi channel marketing in a way that will impact your business positively?

Here are my 4 tips:
• Determine the look, feel and brand message you want to portray across all channels
• Create a professional marketing platform profile that describes what you do as a business
• Put yourself in the shoes of a typical customer that you want to attract and plan your marketing strategy based on this person’s customer journey to create the best experience possible
• When creating multi channel marketing campaigns, always focus on encouraging more customer engagement

The act of creating a multi channel marketing strategy in a way that takes into consideration the best customer experience is also known as omnichannel.

With the omnichannel strategy, more and more customers and potential customers will feel motivated to buy from you and refer your brand to other people!

So now you’ve learnt what is multi channel marketing for beginners and how to implement it in your business.

It’s time to start putting this knowledge into action.

Your customers are waiting for someone like you to provide the solutions to their problems at a time that they need it.

But the question is – will you be there for them when they need you the most?

I hope you found this article on Multi Channel Marketing For Beginners helpful. Have you tried multi channel marketing and found success? What other topics would you like to hear from me in my future articles? I’d love to know in the comments section below.

How To Get Loyal Followers For Your Brand

Having a community of loyal followers for your brand can do wonders, especially when it comes to increasing your business sales and brand awareness. The saying goes that for a business to be truly successful in launching any of its products or services, all it takes is to have 1,000 true fans who will follow your brand and support whatever you are introducing to them.

Gaining loyal followers for your brand is easier than you think. It all depends on how you communicate with your potential customers about your business and brand. Before anyone starts following you, they need to know – “Why they should be following you?” “What information are you going to reveal to them when they follow you?” “What sort of products and services are you going to introduce to them?” and “How you are going to make their lives better”.

The way you answer these questions can be subtle or direct. Of course, it depends on the tone of voice that you wish to portray for your business and brand. And that’s entirely up to you…

But to increase your success rate in getting more loyal followers for your brand, here are some proven strategies that you can use:-

Stay Connected With Current & Potential Customers

To encourage more people to become your followers, you need to start interacting with them.

You can always conduct surveys to get their feedback and opinions about your products or services. You may also wish to do this before organising any social media competitions so that they will be a hit!

And with the help of social media, all you need to do is pose interesting questions related to your industry or business and wait for people to respond to your questions. And when people respond to your questions, they become active listeners and can start to engage with your brand.

Through social media, you now have the opportunity to reply directly with your current and potential customers at a much personal level compared to years ago.

Social listening tools also make it possible for you to get information about what people are saying about your brand. With this, you can respond appropriately to those comments to boost the reputation of your brand.

When replying to people’s comments and feedback about your business, send them a personalised message to let them know you care about their opinions.

By doing this, they will feel valued by you and will likely want to know about your business and brand more. So they will start following your brand.

Show Your Personality

No matter how you look or what your personality is, always remember that you’ll be amazing to other people!

People love connecting with other humans. So if your brand doesn’t have a face, people will not be likely to follow it. So try as much as possible to show your face to your customers and potential customers. It can be an image of yourself or a video of you speaking…Anything that will let people know that they are not interacting with a ‘wall’.

And try to create content yourself so that it genuinely comes from you and is based on your opinions.

Do not be afraid to express and show the world what you really are. You need to let them know the real you and connect with your personality.

You will attract loyal followers who resonate with what you have to say and can connect with your unique personality.

You can show your face in your social media covers, advertisements and marketing materials. The opportunities are endless so be proud of yourself and let your personality shine and help you gain more followers!

Use Email Marketing To Stay Memorable

Most people find out about a brand by accident because they were searching for solutions for their problems. Then find some free content, consume the content and forget about the brand.

So how do you avoid this from happening? One of the ways is by using email marketing.

By collecting a list of email subscribers for your business, you will get to interact with your subscribers through email so that your brand will be always on their minds.

However, you need to use your email list wisely, or else you will get massive unsubscribes!

To get more open rates and engagement for your email campaigns, you need to create emails that are compelling enough so that people will open and read them.

You can also throw in some bonuses for your email subscribers such as by giving coupons, discount vouchers or special members discount to your subscribers so that they will feel encouraged to try your products and services.

Be Consistent In What You Stand For

While showing your personality to your target audience, you would also want to convey a message to them that tells them about your values and what you stand for.

People are inclined to follow brands who have values that are aligned with what they believe. So by communicating the values that you stand up for, you are going to attract more loyal followers.

For instance, if you’re a nature-loving type of person, you would want to ensure that the way you run your business is eco-friendly. Be consistent in what you believe in and convey the message to your audience that you are doing your best to preserve nature.

It’s unwise to strongly uphold a value one day and before you know it, go against that value. For instance, if you are in support of sponsored blog posts, don’t just come up with an article or any sort of content that condemns working with sponsors.

Because when you do this, your audience will stop believing in you and your brand. They will think that whatever you say is just mere ‘talk’ and you don’t mean what you say.

So the moral of the story is – always be consistent in showcasing your values and beliefs.

Show Appreciation By Using User-Generated Content

Once you start getting followers for your brand, you’ll notice that some followers are the type who love to contribute direct and indirect content for your business and community.

For instance, whenever you do a social media or blog post, you might get people commenting on your content. It may be a form of conversation to you, a suggestion or a compliment for the content that you have shared.

These are what we called user-generated content. When you use user-generated content as inspiration for creating your upcoming content, products or services and acknowledge where the inspiration came from, your followers who contributed the content will feel appreciated.

And when this happens, these followers will continue to follow your brand and turn into loyal followers!

Always strive to have an active community of followers who are ready to share insights and comments for your business and brand.

To encourage more user-generated content you can run competitions too.

Constantly Provide Value

As I mentioned earlier, one of the reasons people will follow you is because they are interested in the information that you are providing to them. To make them follow you, you must constantly share meaningful content with them that they can use.

For instance, you can share information, valuable resources and access to workshops that they can obtain to grow in a specific area that they are interested in.

There are multiple ways you can share your valuable content. You can share your knowledge and skills through blog posts, YouTube videos, podcast sessions or any other sort of methods that you feel most comfortable with.

But one thing to take into consideration is where is your target audience hanging out? That’s a research that you will need to do. And this will determine the method/s of sharing your valuable content.

Once you found this out, continuously provide value to them through the method/s that you have chosen.

Surprise Them By Introducing New Things

Although it’s good to ask your followers what they want, sometimes what they want is not what they need.

So when getting requests of what they want, use these requests to inspire your next content but at the same time, think of additional information that you can provide to go above and beyond to help your followers.

For instance, you can provide a blog post on a specific topic and at the same time suggest other relevant resources, tools or reading materials that your readers can go to for developing their skills in a specific area of interest.

Reward Them For Following You

A really important thing you may also want to consider is having a rewards program for your followers.

For instance, once they have signed up as your active email subscribers, you can give them access to exclusive deals such as special discounts, early access to your pre-launches, referral commissions, free samples or any other rewards that you can think of to make them happy.

When you reward them for becoming your followers, it will make them feel special. And when they feel special, this will make them want to become your loyal followers.

Ready To Map A Solid Plan For Getting Loyal Followers?

Now that you know the different strategies to get loyal followers for your brand, let me ask you a question, – “Do you have a solid plan to get more loyal followers for your brand?’

Because without a solid strategy, you will not be able to get a clear idea about what are the steps you need to take to start growing your followers. When you do not know what to do, you’ll waste time and effort doing stuff that won’t contribute towards helping you to gain more followers.

If you need assistance in mapping out a content marketing strategy to help you gain more loyal followers through your blog and/or email campaigns, I’m here for you. I provide copywriting services for coaches, consultants and trainers to help them generate more leads and conversions through non-salesy copy that sells.

Digital Content Batching Strategy For Busy Entrepreneurs

Have you ever struggled coming up with content for your business consistently? Then digital content batching can help you. This is a strategy most often used to assist busy entrepreneurs to churn out mass content without wasting too much time on production.

The reason why digital content batching is a great strategy is because when you use this method for content creation, you only need to focus on one similar task at the time so that you can give full concentration in completing it.

You can use this strategy to come up with content for your blog, social media posts, videos, podcast sessions, freebie offers, newsletter articles, graphic creations and many more!

Once you master this content strategy, you will be able to work more productively so that you can save time to do other vital stuff for your business.

Here’s what you should do to use digital content batching for your business.

Determine Your Content Purpose

Developing content to grow your business is considered content marketing. And with content marketing, whatever content you create needs to be intentional – either to help you gain brand awareness or gather more leads and sales.

So to do effective content marketing, you need to have a clear purpose for your content.

Before going any further in your content creation, you need to ask yourself what sort of content you can create that will attract your potential and existing customers to buy from you.

Or in the case of brand awareness campaigns, you might want to think of the types of content that will give your target audience more exposure to your brand.

When you create valuable content that your target audience is searching for, your business and brand visibility will increase.

This will bring you more leads and sales in the long run.

Brainstorm Your Content Ideas

Once you’re clear about the purpose of your content creation, you need to set aside some time to brainstorm your content ideas.

For a successful brainstorming session, I’d advise you to choose a time when your creativity is at its peak. It might be in the morning, afternoon, evening or at night. You will need to determine the best time to do this brainstorming session as everybody is different.

When doing your brainstorming session, you can come up with a list of content topics that you can use for future content creation.

You can also list down potential questions that are asked by your target audience and save suitable images that will go well with your content.

You may find yourself carried away with this brainstorming session and take longer than expected because you might just come up with too many ideas!

So to save yourself time, you can determine the set number of content ideas you want to come up so that you won’t waste time generating with too many ideas.

You can save your content ideas list in an Excel spreadsheet or any other types of software that you feel is suitable for your needs.

Research Industry Publications, News and Competitors

When coming up with ideas for your content creation, it is highly beneficial to keep abreast with topics that are discussed within your industry.

You can set aside some time every week to read industry publications, news articles and competitor websites to see what are the hot topics that are frequently discussed and that have gained a lot of attention from your target audience.

When you discover interesting topics that you can repurpose for your next content creation, then save this to your content ideas list.

You can also use the topics that are discussed to give you inspiration for other related topics that might be of interest to your future and existing customers.

Create A Content Plan

Next, you need to create a content plan to ensure that you will have enough content for the period of time that you want.

You might want to plan your content for a week or a month.

Some people find it easier and faster to create content if they are creating it in themes or series. That way, you won’t need to delve deep in several topics but just focus on one main topic and break it down to different content pieces.

Your content plan is something like an editorial calendar. You will need to determine the things that you wish to promote or brand perception that you are creating first. Then you should match this purpose with your content ideas.

You might also want to take into consideration the type of sales funnel that you are creating for your business and use your content to move people down into your sales funnel.

Once you have all this in place, you can create a schedule to give you a broad overview of what you’re going to create for that month or week.

By doing this, it will help you to stay organized so that you will know what you’re supposed to focus on.

Create Content Outline

Once you’ve finalised what your content topics should be, you can move on to creating your content outline.

This need not be done all at once. You can slowly gather ideas for your content piece over some time. You can use either a word document or other documenting software to save all your content outline ideas.

You can include about 3 -5 main points that you need to cover in your content piece. And after that, add in your introduction, conclusion and call-to-action.

When you create an outline for your content, you will be able to create your content much faster. This is because you’ll have time to think about the content you are creating.

So when you sit down to produce the content, you will complete it quickly.

Create Your Actual Content

With your content outline, you can spend some time creating your actual content.

Because your outline is already there, all you need to do is combine the information into carefully constructed sentences. You can also add the images that you’ve found earlier to your content pieces.

This works for whatever content you are creating – be it for your blog posts, newsletter articles as well as YouTube or podcast scripts.

I’d advise you to choose a time that you can think your best. If you’re more awake in the evening, then do this in the evening. If you’re more awake in the morning, then do it in the morning. It’s also best to choose a quiet location so that you can have the peace of mind to think clearly when creating your content.

Once your content is done, you can edit it. But do not edit it immediately, wait until the next day to edit it. This is because after creating content, your brains will be too tired to think and spot any mistakes that you may have!

Automate Your Social Media Posts

Based on your content calendar, you can use automation software to send your social media posts to promote whatever content that you’ve created.

This works extremely well especially if you do not have the time to send them manually every week or if you’re going for a vacation and will have no access to the internet or will just be plain lazy to send the posts at that time!

Some really popular social media automation software are such as Buffer and Hootsuite. They both have free versions. But if you want to use their additional functions, you will need to pay for a subscription.

Being able to use digital content batching strategy to come up with consistent content that will attract your future and existing customers to learn about your business and buy from you is a good thing. However, if you go all out to create all the quality and valuable content for your target audience but do not know where to find them, all your effort will be gone to waste.

In my eBook entitled Power Handbook To Finding Your Ideal Customers Who Really Spend, I will reveal exactly how you can find your best customers who will spend and get them to contact you! If you want to know more about this eBook, click here.

I hope that this digital content batching strategy that I’ve shared with you will be able to help you to come up with more content consistently. Have you tried content batching before and have found it useful in growing your business? Or do you have other content batching tips to share? I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.

Customers are the lifeblood of any business. So to grow a business, we must not only focus on generating sales and leads. We must also place equal importance in building relationships and interactions with our customers. This is because when you can understand your customers and interact with them better, you will be able to cultivate brand loyalty and repeat sales. Your happy customers will be also willing to share about your products and services to their friends and family members. You can encourage your customers to interact and share about your brand by having strategic customer engagement strategies in place.

Typically, you will know when your business has achieved good customer engagement when you notice the following:-
• Returning visitors to your website or blog
• Increased open, click-through rates and replies for your email campaigns
• Comments, likes and shares on your blog and social media posts
• Existence of user-generated content whereby your customers start sharing photos and testimonials about your products or services
• Repeat sales from your existing customers

There are several marketing strategies that you can use to achieve a high level of customer engagement. So in this article, I’m going to share with you 9 Best Strategies To Create Better Customer Engagement:-

Use Thought-Provoking Questions

One of the best ways to create customer engagement is by simply asking thought-provoking questions to your customers.

You can ask these questions to your audience through practically any platform that you have – whether it be YouTube, your blog, Twitter, Instagram or Facebook.

The point is to ask questions that will get your customers thinking. It could evoke a sense of curiosity, excitement, joy, regret, courage or pride. It all depends on the purpose of your questions.

And when you get your customers to the emotional state that you want them to be, they will be most likely eager to answer your question and give their opinion.

When you encourage your customers to get connected with you by answering your thought-provoking questions, you will be able to use the answers that they provide to further develop your products, services and brand.

You will be able to steer your business strategies towards the directions that speaks the best to your customers.

It also makes your customers feel valued, knowing that their opinions matter to your business.

Always remember to treat the answers provided by your customers like ‘gold’. They are the ones paying you money to get you to supply with your products and services.

So if they have a say, take note of it and see what you can do for your future business plans and ideas.

Create Engaging Content

To make your brand memorable, you need to constantly connect with your customers by creating engaging content.

The best way to publish your engaging content is by either having a blog, podcast, Facebook Fan Page, Facebook Group or YouTube channel.

There is a lot of talk about what engaging content means. Engaging content is content that educates your customers in specific areas that they need solutions in.

Your content can be topic-specific to address certain challenges that your customers are particularly facing. Customers also like content that provides them with actionable steps in solving whatever issues that they are encountering. They also like content that is not too boring and somewhat entertaining.

I’ve previously written a more detailed article on creating engaging content. You can find the article here.

By providing engaging content, your customers will constantly go back to the platform that you use to publish this content for help and guidance. When this happens, they will see you as an expert and will continue to remember your brand.

And when it comes to a point when they need to purchase again, your brand will be the first thing on their mind!

Use Multiple Platforms To Get Connected

It is important to publish your engaging content and connect with your customers through multiple platforms.

Your customers may have different browsing preferences. Some of them might prefer reading a detailed blog article is in written form while others may prefer you to convey the same message in a bite-sized video through YouTube. Others may want to scroll through social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest to read the topic highlights before deciding on clicking-through to read a blog or view a video.

So by broadcasting your content through multiple platforms, you will get the opportunity to reach out to your customers through several touchpoints.

The more touchpoints your customers have with your brand, the more likely they will want to connect with your brand. This is especially the case if your content resonates directly with what they want to learn about.

Practice Customer Segmentation

You can also reach a high level of customer engagement by practising customer segmentation for your business.

This can be done by simply segmenting your email list based on the actions taken by your customers. Have they clicked on a specific link that talks about a particular topic? Have they replied to your email with a question that needs to be answered? These are clear indicators as to where your customers will fit in your segmentation list.

You can use your segmented list to decide what types of marketing message go to each group of audience. This will enable you to speak to your customers needs better – hence improving the level of customer engagement!

You may also want to develop special marketing campaigns that target the high-spenders and frequent buyers to ask them more about their needs.

Make Them Feel Special

Make your customers feel special for following you on your social media and publishing platforms or joining your email list.

You can do this by providing updates on what you’re up to in your business using a simple behind-the-scenes write-up or video. You can also announce about product updates, launches or any upgrades you have developed for your business that will serve your customers better.

As for email subscribers, you can make them feel extra special by sharing exclusive content and offers to them. You can also send them birthday wishes and vouchers that will encourage further purchases.

When you make your customers feel special for following you, they will feel valued and develop a sense of loyalty and begin to engage with your brand better.

Connect With Them At A Personal Level

People love dealing with people. So if you want to develop stronger customer engagement with your business, you need to break down the walls of having an icy-cold business. You need your customers to feel that they are dealing with an actual human being. Many use personal branding to do this.

Personal branding is getting popular nowadays, especially when a business owner wants to expand its market share online or become an online influencer. Usually, the owner of the business shows up in front of an online audience to showcase his or her knowledge and skills in his or her particular field. You can use this method to build a personal connection with your customers.

If you have a business that has several team members, you can also ask your team members to show up on your various social media or publishing platforms to introduce themselves and talk about how they can help your customers.

Apart from this, you can also give your customer a sense of personalization by addressing them by their names whenever you send them your email campaigns. You can also seek feedback from those on your email list and respond to them individually to let them know that they are dealing with someone who has their best interests at heart.

Build A Supportive Online Community

You can also work towards building a supportive online community to further engage with your customers. The best way to do this is by either starting forums or by having your own Facebook Groups.

The beauty of having an online community that you own is that you can encourage your customers and other like-minded people with similar needs to support one another through member-generated content.

By establishing your forums or Facebook Groups, you also get to reply to your customers’ questions directly and discuss any needs that they may have.

This will make your customers feel much more connected to you and your brand compared to just posting your content on social media.

Organize Attractive Competitions

Who doesn’t love getting free stuff? I know I do. And your customers will probably love them too!

You can motivate your customers to get to know your brand better, learn about a new product feature or take notice of a recent product launch that you have organized by holding attractive competitions.

Being in a chance of winning a prize by learning more about your business is usually enough to build excitement that will get people to talking and engaging with your brand more.

You can get your customers to share photos of them using your products or share testimonials and tag your business to create more awareness for your business getting your customers engaged with your brand. You can also use a specific hashtag for your competitions.

And of course, there are many other types of competitions that you can organize for your customers to get engaged with your business and brand.

The sky is the limits so it’s time to start putting on your thinking caps to work on the best possible competitions that will get more people engaged with your brand!

Ask Their Opinions For Continuous Improvements

You can also develop more engagement with your customers by asking their opinions about either an existing product or service your that you have or about an upcoming product or service that you are currently developing.

The best way to collect such opinions from your customers is by using social media. If you have a good number of followers or have people constantly engaging with your social media platforms, then you can simply ask questions to get their opinions on these matters.

Customers love to be heard. And so by allowing them to express their opinions about what you offer in your business, they will feel appreciated and be motivated to engage with your business and brand more.

Another advantage of this is that you can use your customers’ opinions to upgrade your product or service offerings and develop new products and services that will be in line with what your customers are looking for.

Creating better customer engagement for your business is one of the key things that makes people want to connect with your brand and support it. When you can develop increased customer engagement, you will find more repeat customers, more people sharing about your products and services to others and an increase in leads and sales. What are you currently doing to encourage customer engagement for your business? Do you have any strategies that work particularly well for your business? And if not, which of the above strategies that I’ve shared do you plan to use for your business? I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.

10 Best Ways To Get Free Traffic For Your Blog

It is practically every blogger’s dream to be able to grow their blog readership to accommodate a huge flow of traffic. After all, there’s no point in sharing your articles and views through your blog if nobody cares about reading it, right? Unfortunately, with the ever-growing number of blogs that are created each day, getting your blog in front of your ideal target audience has become more challenging. And using paid advertisements to drive traffic to your blog will cost you a lot of money. That’s why in this article, I’m going to share with you the 10 best ways you can use to get free traffic for your blog.

Optimize Your Articles With Long Tail Keywords

No matter what niche you are in, you are bound to be faced with stiff competition. To stand out from the crowd, you need to create content that focuses on keywords with less competition.

Many people talk about optimizing blog articles for SEO, but my advice to you is that if you want to get your articles in front of your target audience effectively, you need to aim towards focusing on long tail keywords.

Long tail keywords are better than just general term keywords because when you focus on general keywords, you are competing with a huge pool of other articles that are targeting the same sort of keywords.

For example, if you are writing about blogging, instead of using the word ‘blogging’ as your target keyword, you can choose to narrow down your article to talk about ‘blogging to make money’.

By focusing on more specific terms through long tail keywords, you will be able to reduce your competition and increase your chances of getting in front of your target readers faster. So you will get more visitors to your blog.

A good tool you can use to get long tail keywords is Ubersuggest.

Publish Relevant Content for Your Target Audience

Your target audience will not even bother reading your articles no matter how good the quality of your content is if you do not write posts that are compelling and relevant to them.

I know that many internet marketing gurus will be encouraging you to publish one blog post a day. But don’t fall into the trap into writing your article and publishing it in a hurry just so that you can meet your goal of the day to publish one article a day!

If you do not do your research to figure out what sort of information your target audience are searching for, then you’ll never be able to reach them.

Why?

It’s because everyone is in a hurry these days. People do not have time to randomly read articles that they feel are of no use to them. Sad but true!

If you want to learn more about creating content that will attract your target audience, then I’d highly encourage you to read my blog articles below:-

Use Catchy Article Headlines That Attract Reads

Even if you’ve prepared the best and most compelling content for your target audience, they still won’t read it if your article headlines do not excite them.

Creating catchy article headlines for your blog posts are equally important because the headlines are the first thing that your target audience will see before they decide to click in to read your article.

In search engines, they will quickly browse through article headlines to see which ones they won’t be interested to read. So at this point, you’ll be competing with all the different article headlines that are available.

So if you do not carefully craft attractive article headlines, you’ll lose out on your article viewership.

I’ve written an article previously on how to create catchy headlines. You can read the article below to help you get started:-

17 Catchy Blog Headlines That Actually Work

Publish Blog Articles Consistently

Try to at least contribute one blog post a week if you want your viewership to grow. Search engines love websites that are consistently updating their content.

So by having fresh content up on your blog frequently, you will soon be able to rank high in search engines. And when you get to rank in search engines, people who search the terms that are related to your blog articles will be able to easily discover your blog.

Besides this, people who visit your blog will be motivated to regularly visit your blog and let others know about what you write about because you are always updating your content. It becomes something exciting to your readers!

Be Active In Facebook Groups Related To Your Niche

Facebook Groups are a great way to do networking with people who are searching for topics related to your niche.

To promote your blog through Facebook Groups, you can join multiple groups that are related to topics within your niche. Once you’re approved as a member of these groups, introduce yourself and let others know about what you do. You can let them know about your blog if permitted by the group owners.

Be active in the Facebook Groups that you join. Take notice of the challenges of other people and if you’re able to help them, then reach out to answer their questions. By being a helpful person in these communities, people will want to get to know you and what you do. They’ll also be curious to visit your blog.

Don’t forget to add a link of your blog on your personal profile page so that they can find out about your blog!

This will help you to get traffic to your website for free.

Contribute Guest Posts On Popular Blogs

You can also start contributing guest posts on popular blogs to grow your blog traffic.

Before deciding on the blogs that you would like to contribute to, you must do some research to see if their blog audience will be interested in your blog content.

You can do this by looking at the types of content that they post. See which content that is gaining a lot of likes, shares and comments. Ask yourself whether your blog content fits within this category. For instance, if you’re writing about healthy eating, you won’t want to contribute to a blog that gives recipes that recreates unhealthy type of fast-food chain meals!

Another thing you need to consider is the popularity of the blog itself. To make your time worth, you need to aim at contributing guest posts to only blogs that have high readership. Because if you don’t, you’ll be just wasting your time!

And the last but most important thing you need to be sure about is whether or not the blog owner will give you a dofollow link back to your blog. This is the no. 1 thing you must ask the blog owner before even working on your guest post.

Because if they do not allow you to link back to your blog, there’s no reason to put your sweat and hard work in contributing an article for their blog, right? That’s because people won’t know how to find your blog…

Promote Your Blog Posts Through Social Media

You can also grow your blog readership by using social media to promote your blog posts. Although paid advertising in these platforms will get you traffic faster, you can still grow your blog popularity organically by constantly sharing about what you write about on your social media platforms.

The most popular social media platforms that you can use are Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter. When you contribute posts through these platforms regularly, they will begin to show your posts to the potential target audience who are interested in topics that are related to what you share.

If you want to grow your blog faster, take some of your most popular blog articles and create multiple social media posts for them. It doesn’t matter how many times you post on social media.

The more you post on social media, the higher your chances will be in getting more people to notice your blog and blog articles!

Encourage Social Sharing In Your Blog

You can encourage your existing blog readers to share your articles by installing social sharing buttons under each blog post.

Social Sharing Button Image

When you include social sharing buttons, it triggers a sense of excitement for people to share your content.

Even if the person who reads your articles have no direct use for the information you have provided, that person can easily share the information with others who might be in need of such information.

So by having these social sharing buttons, you’ll be able to get more people sharing your content to their friends and family.

This will increase your blog traffic fast, especially if you are great at writing content that can go viral!

A really popular WordPress plugin that you can use to do social sharing is Shareaholic.

Utilize Other Publishing Platforms

If you don’t want to go through all the hassle of submitting guest posts for popular blogs, then you can write on other publishing platforms with huge audiences to direct more people to your blog for free.

Some of the popular publishing platforms that you can use to promote your blog out there to more readers are such as Quora, Wikipedia, LinkedIn Pulse and Medium.

You can simply reword and paraphrase the content that you already have on your blog to contribute to platforms like Quora, LinkedIn Pulse and Medium. Alternatively, you can write on other topics within your niche to be published there.

When you publish your content on these popular platforms, you will have the potential of reaching a much larger audience. These platforms will show your content to their readers based on their search preferences, interests and reading history.

For Wikipedia, you can add information to an already existing write-up on their website and link back to your blog post that contains the information that you’ve provided. Don’t be spammy or promotional though because you’ll be banned from Wikipedia!

For Quora, you can also provide answers to the questions of others so that your potential target audience will begin to notice you and your blog.

For all these platforms, don’t forget to add a link to your blog where permitted so they’ll know where to find your blog!

Join HARO To Expose Your Blog Through Publications

You can also get ‘free publicity’ for your blog by contributing your answers and articles through HARO. Registering yourself as a source can be done in minutes. And all you need to do is pitch your answers to publications when they need resources or thoughts on some things.

When you contribute through HARO, you will get your name and website link featured. This will be a huge advantage to you as you will be able to reach out to a wider target audience who are already interested in topics within your niche.

This will help you to generate traffic and promote your blog for free.

I hope the strategies on how to get free traffic for your blog will be of great use to you when doing your blog promotion. Have you tried any of these strategies before and found them useful? Or do you have other strategies to share? I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.

15 Reasons Why Every Business Should Have a Blog

Blogging is one of the most powerful tools that any business owner can use to grow and compete in today’s digital landscape. However, many still question the need of having a business blog.

They question whether having a website is enough and whether a blog will be able to give them the return on investment they are looking for. To me, whether you’re a carpenter, handyman, baker, hair stylist, fashion consultant, medical professional, artist, musician, tutor or anything at all – you will definitely be able to grow your business by having a blog!

Here are my 15 Reasons Why Every Business Should Have a Blog:-

Establish Yourself as an Authority and Expert

Blogging gives you the ability to demonstrate your knowledge, skills and expertise in your field. When you provide your target audience with relevant information and write-ups that help them solve their problems, they will begin to regard you as the expert in the field and use your blog as a go-to resource whenever they need to learn more about your field. And when they become your regular blog readers, they will become interested in knowing what you do and the types of products or services that you offer. These regular readers might become your leads and sales. And if they don’t, they might recommend your products or services to friends or family members who may want to buy from you!

Motivates You to Improve Your Knowledge and Skills

When you’re constantly updating your blog with fresh content, you will be motivated to do more research, experiment and connect more with people in your industry. The more you write about the topics in your area of expertise, the more knowledgeable you will become. And you will also be able to sharpen your communication and writing skills along the way while writing your blog and interacting with your others in your industry and your blog readers! Also, when you become more knowledgeable, you will begin to see more your readers being drawn to your blog to provide them with more information about your chosen niche.

Helps You to Compete with Competitors

If you’ve been in the situation before whereby you thought that having a blog was going to be a waste of time and money, there are probably a lot of your competitors who are still saying the same thing! So getting your blog started can put yourself in front of your target customers fast before your competitors get to them. And when you have a blog, you will be able to showcase your personality, values, brand and unique selling points to your target audience. Many other businesses may be offering the same products and services as you. But when you are able to differentiate your business from the rest of your competition, you will begin to see your blog readers begin to connect to your business. These readers may become loyal customers to you or even recommend your business to other people!

Grows Your Email List

Every business needs leads that they can convert into sales in the future. So by having a blog, you will get an engaged audience to opt-in to your email list. These will be strong leads that are most likely to convert into sales because those who have signed up to your list already reads your articles and know that you have expertise in your area. You can include call-to-action to encourage your blog readers to opt-in to your email list by offering them free digital downloads, reports, case studies or trainings. And by moving these people to your online sales funnel, you will be able to introduce them to your products and services so that they will eventually turn into customers.

Encourages Two-Way Communications With Customer

By having the ability to showcase your personality through a blog, you will become more approachable in the eyes of your customers and future customers. Besides providing valuable content for your blog, you should also encourage customers and prospects to leave their feedback and comments on your blog. This will give you an insight as to how your target audience sees you. And you will also be able to clear any doubts or negative thoughts of people towards your business by responding to any negative comments.

Provides Content for Social Media

You can also connect your blog posts to your social media channels to reach more audiences. Your social media channel needs to be updated regularly. So instead of just sharing content created by other people, why not share your own blog content and drive your target customers directly to your blog? You can create multiple social media posts using a single blog post to attract people who are visiting their social media accounts at different times.

Creates Opportunities for Content Sharing

When you share engaging, valuable, entertaining and fun content on your blog, chances are that your blog article may actually go viral! Ensure that you have installed plugins on your blog that will make it easier for people to share your blog article on social media. When people share your blog content, you actually get free publicity and benefit from word-of-mouth marketing. The more people share your content, the more you and your business will become well-known. The best part is that more of your target customers may come to know of you when your articles go viral!

Gives Your Business a Face and a Voice

Would you like to give a phone call to a company only to be answered by an answering machine? Probably not, right? Same goes with customers of any sort of businesses. Your customers want to deal with real people. Having a blog will enable you to personally connect with your readers by showing exactly who you are (as the Founder or staff behind the curtains) and what your business and brand is all about. When you readers begin to connect to your business this way, they would more likely want to do business with you rather than some other companies that doesn’t bother to connect with them. This helps to build brand loyalty amongst your target customers.

Opportunity to Express More Through Blog Content

Who loves receiving sales letters that are all about selling a product rather than connecting to you? None, right? But through blog content, you will find that your readers will be more opened to receiving news about your products and services if they are connected to a topic that is relevant to them. In fact, an attention span of a reader of a blog post is generally higher than someone who reads a generic sales letter! This is because blog posts provide value rich content that draws a reader to engage with it. However, you must be aware that you need to write your blog post in a way that highlights more about the problem that your readers are trying to solve rather than talking all about your products and services. There is an art to doing this and I may reveal it in one of my upcoming blog articles in the future.

Helps You To Launch Successful Marketing Campaigns

When you have regular readers to your business blog, you will find that launching a successful campaign for your business much easier. This includes doing product launches, eCourse launches, the promotion or certain ideas or events, poll competitions or any sort of campaigns that will help you to generate more leads and sales.

Grows Your Community and Network

Practically everyone loves to be part of a community or network that shares common interests and challenges. Once you have established your blog and gain regular readership, your readers will start to communicate to you by providing feedback and comments through your blog. Some of them may even contact you directly to collaborate and offer joint venture opportunities. You will find that when people begin to take part in communicating through your blog, more people will be encouraged to connect with you. This is because your blog has brought them a sense of belonging. They want to be part of a community and network. And that’s what your blog will do.

Drive More Traffic To Your Website

Relying on getting traffic from search engines when you only have an ‘About Us’, ‘Contact’ and ‘Services’ pages will be very tough. By having a blog, you will have the opportunity to rank your website by using certain keywords that are normally used by your target audience. Search engines, especially Google loves websites that constantly provide relevant and fresh content. Your blog will enable your website to rank high in search engines if updated regularly. The more visitors come to your website, the higher your chances will be to get more leads and sales for your business!

Rewards You With Long-Term Results

When it comes to blogging, the post you write today for your business will continue to help you generate more leads and sales in the future. In my previous post – ‘How to Create Evergreen Content for Your Blog’, I’ve highlighted how you can come up with blog articles that will stay fresh and relevant for years to come. You can use the tips I’ve shared to promote your own products, get affiliate products to sell or establish a connection with your readers so that they will follow your blog. You will find that the more you contribute blog articles, the more results you will get for your business – as in you will be able to generate more leads and sales!

Helps You To Improve Your Products and Services

Your customers and potential customers will not tell you directly why they are not buying your products and services. But by creating blog articles that describes about a particular product or service and asking for feedback from readers, you will be able to determine the real cause for your lack of sales. Using this method, you will be able to continuously improve your products and services to a point where it becomes a hot seller amongst your readers and target customers!

Provides a More Affordable Form of Marketing

By having a blog, you get to promote your business, brand as well as products and services in a more affordable way. For example, the web hosting company I use – BlueHost provides me with unlimited storage space for my blog at a low cost. So no matter how many posts I publish in my blog, the cost of running my blog will be the same. I can do promotional blog posts, announce about my new course, introduce affiliate products and create poll questions as well as competitions using my blog without any additional cost.

Blogging is no longer just an alternative tool that you can use to improve your business. In fact, if you have a small or medium-sized business, then blogging is a highly essential tool that can help you to beat your giant competitors. Having a blog will give you the ability to showcase your personality, brand and business to a wider target audience. It will also help your customers and prospective customers to connect with you. You will also be able to improve your products and services by receiving relevant feedback and comments from your valued readers.

I hope that you’ll be encouraged to start a blog for your business after reading my article.- 15 Reasons Why Every Business Should Have a Blog. Do you agree with any of the points that I’ve just mentioned above? If yes, please leave your comments in the comment section below. And if you already have a business blog and are benefiting from it, I’d like to know too.

How To Create Epic Blog Content That Will Rock Your Readers’ World

It is every bloggers dream to create epic blog content that attracts their ideal target audience to engage with it, share it, bookmark it for future references and read it over and over again. I mean, who wants to spend hours writing articles that nobody will read or even care about? None, right? That’s why in this article, I’m going to explain to you exactly how you can create epic posts for your blog that will rock your readers’ world!

You must be scratching your head right now wondering what is epic content, right?

Well, epic content is content that provides the ultimate solution to your readers’ problem, provides them with the courage to move mountains to solve it, motivates them to change for the better, inspires them to share the content with others and emotionally connects with them so that they can fully engage with it.

Epic content is the key to connecting with your target audience at a higher level to gain more loyal readers and increase the popularity of your blog, brand and business!

Although we can never really fully define whether an article is epic, readers of the content will know it straight away when they see it!

So if you are planning to write epic articles for your blog to impress your readers, then keep reading.

Here are my best strategies on How to Create Epic Blog Content That Will Rock Your Readers’ World:

Well-Written

When preparing your blog articles, do not rush into hitting the ‘Publish’ button as soon as you have completed your write-ups. Take the time to read your post over and over again, preferably aloud at least twice to spot any typo or grammatical errors. Remove any jargons that are not familiar to your target audience. Try to simplify the way you explain things so that it will be easier for your readers to understand what you are trying to say. Make your message as clear as possible.

Catchy Headlines

A great article will never get noticed without catchy headlines that will draw your readers towards it. So remember to brainstorm potential headlines first before hitting your ‘Publish’ button. In my article ’17 Catchy Blog Headlines That Actually Work’, I explained how to craft impactful blog headlines that will attract your potential audience to read your articles. Take a look at this article by clicking here.

Be Conversational

Try to spark a conversation with your audience by writing as if you are talking to them. Blogging is an informal way to connect to your target audience. There are many ways you can use to set the conversational tone going in your articles. A really popular way to start a conversation is by asking questions to your audience and encouraging them to leave comments in your blog.

Controvversial Views

As a beginner in blogging many years ago, I feared to express views that are controversial to the norm because I was afraid that there would be readers who will hate me for what I stand for. However, I now realised that by expressing my views honestly, I draw more loyal readers to follow me. Creating controversial views not only attracts attention, but because it is seen as an alternative to what is usually being said, people will tend to get excited and share about it even more. It’s considered – ‘news’! So if you are afraid to write controversial views, do not hesitate. Because by doing so, you’re probably just one step away to creating that epic blog content you’ve always wanted!

Unique Solutions

Have you ever been searching high and low for a solution to a pressing problem in your life or workplace only to find that the answers given in each and every blog you visit are the same? You’ve tried all the recommendations and unfortunately, the problem was not solved and you keep on running into the same answers whenever you go online over and over again. Will you get frustrated? I’m sure you will…

Well, like many people will say – if it’s not new, then it’s not news!

So do your readers a favour and give them alternative solutions to their problems. Because if they have tried you solutions and found them useful, they will probably let others know about you and your blog!

Be Detailed

Another mistake that many bloggers make is writing as though their readers already have prior knowledge about the topic they are covering; or writing as though they can read the writer’s mind. When writing your blog content, explain the topic and any complicated terms or words in detail so that your readers will understand where you are coming from. This will motivate them to continue reading your article. You can publish ultimate guides, tutorials, detailed to-do lists and in-depth case studies or examples to give them a thorough understanding on what you are explaining. When you get to connect to your readers at their level of understanding, you can also inspire them to take action and succeed. Readers love to share about blog articles that connect to their emotions and help them to change their lives.

Action Oriented Advice

You should also strive towards giving action oriented advice to your readers. If everything is elaborated in just a story form without including any list of actions required for success, your readers may feel lost when it comes to taking the first few steps to solving their problems. So by having a list of actions that they can take, this will help them to overcome their fears of not knowing how to get started and minimize their level of failure. When your readers are more confident that your solution can help them with their problems, they will most likely share it with others facing similar problems as them.

Invoke Emotion

Connect with your readers’ hearts through your written blog content by inspiring them to push forward and overcome their obstacles. Provide them with the confidence they need to succeed in their challenges.

When you get to connect with them at an emotional level, they will begin to step into your world and see what it would be like once they have solved their problems.

Share with them the stories about how you went through the same thing that they are going through now. Let them know how you faced it with courage and the emotional roller-coaster you went through. And describe to them how you felt after you have solved your challenges.

Stir their emotions, connect to their hearts and they will love your content and share it with everybody they know!

Visually Appealing

You only have a few seconds to impress your readers. People are no longer just attracted to blog posts through written content. They are attracted through images too!

Have you ever scrolled through your favourite social media channel such as Facebook, Instagram or Pinterest and find yourself stop to read a post from an unfamiliar person because of the catchy images that has been attached to the post? I’m sure you have! And the same goes for blog posts…

So to attract more readers to your blog content, you need to include images!

Some examples of images you can add to make your content epic are photos, infographics, videos and diagrams.

Do Your Research

I know that a lot of internet marketing ‘gurus’ out there are drumming in your heads to publish at least 1 article a day. But to me, that is not even necessary…In fact, if you force yourself to publish everyday but have no idea what content to publish, what you will find yourself doing is publishing for the sake of publishing.

And because the content is rushed, your readers will notice. Your article quality will be compromised and your readers will see you as being unprofessional.

So hold back…

Do your research thoroughly before writing your blog article and hit ‘Publish’ only when you are ready.

When your target audience gets to know about your article, reads it and finds it valuable, they will be hungry for more information. This is a key to getting them to visit your blog over and over again.

Now imagine if you simply wrote an article for the sake of publishing it and your target audience discovers it? What impact will it bring to their lives? Nothing, right? Will they ever come to your blog again? Probably not!
So do your research first before writing and publishing your article. You won’t regret it.

Valuable Content

Last but not least – make sure to give valuable content if you want your blog to be epic. If you’ve managed to provide the ultimate solution to your readers that cannot be found anywhere else, your readers will definitely find your content valuable.

And when you provide solid advice without using flowery words or using 1000 words when you can explain things in just 50 words, that’s valuable too!

I guess that’s all the tips I can share today…

Although there will never be a 100% guarantee on whether your blog content will be seen as epic….All you can do is just do your part and follow these steps.

And let your readers decide whether your content is epic or not!

If you like what I just shared on How to Create Epic Blog Content That Will Rock Your Readers’ World, or have implemented any of these steps and found success, then I’d encourage you to leave your comments in the comment section below. And if you have friends of family members who are struggling to create an impact through blogging, then share this article with them too. Remember, a little help goes a long way!

How to Create Evergreen Content for Your Blog

Content is king when it comes to making your business known to your target audience on the internet. So how do you make full use of all the blog articles and write-ups that you produce for long term success? The answer is – evergreen content!

Evergreen content focuses on topics that remain ‘fresh’ and relevant to your target audiences for years to come. Creating evergreen blog content for your business is a really good strategy to develop strong SEO so that your blog will continue to attract more visitors over time.

This tactic also helps you to establish yourself as a thought leader and expert in your field as more and more people will get to know about you and learn from your expertise and content writing.

You will also be able to continually serve your customers and potential customers throughout the year by providing this evergreen content.
It is important to note that evergreen articles are not:-

  • News-related pieces
  • Holiday or seasonal write-ups
  • Current trends and crazes
  • Statistics or numerical reports
  • Pop culture fad
  • Latest clothing and fashion trends

Although such articles may boost up your website rank in search engines, the demand for such information will fade sooner or later. So it’s important to understand that both trending and evergreen content can contribute towards your business success.

Examples of evergreen content that you can produce are:-

  • Product Reviews
  • Lists
  • “How-to” tutorials
  • Answers to FAQs (frequently asked questions)
  • Industry Advice
  • Glossary of terms and phrases that are common to your industry
  • Testimonials
  • Case Studies (Successful and What-Went-Wrong)
  • Resources List
  • Top Tips
  • Checklists
  • List of Free and Paid Tools
  • Books to Reach a Specific Goal or Solve a Challenge
  • Interviews
  • Lessons Learned from Mistakes Made
  • Common Mistakes in an Industry
  • Pros and Cons write-ups

Below are my top tips for finding suitable evergreen content ideas for your blog and business:-

Right Keywords

What are the types of keywords that you would like your website to rank for? The best way to figure this out is to determine the types of challenges that your customers are normally facing.

After figuring this out, you will need to brainstorm the potential questions that your customers would be keying into their search engines. And from there, you can use these questions to make a decision on the types of keywords that you will be focusing on to rank your website.

You can get ideas of the types of keywords to use by doing a thorough research on Google Adwords. Try to choose longtail keywords instead of more general keywords because the competition for such keywords would be less. So it will be easier for your customers to discover you.

You must also see that the keywords you have chosen have a good amount of search volume per month.

Use the Google Adwords Keyword Planner tool.

Google Adwords Keyword Planner

Once you have selected on the Keyword Planner tool, you need to click on ‘Find new keywords’.

Find New Keywords In Google Adwords

In that section, you will need to key in the terms or keywords that would be most likely used by your target customers.

Google Adwords Keyword Planner Results

Then you can look through the suggested keywords and average monthly searches to see what are the keywords that are popularly used. You can also use this method to find other potential keywords that you may have missed earlier.

Besides using Google Adwords, you can also use Keywords Everywhere to search for potential related topics that may have a good volume of searches. Keywords Everywhere is a browser add-on that you can use on Chrome and Firefox. It allows you to see what types of keywords are normally used.

Keywords Everywhere tool

Once you install Keywords Everywhere onto your web browser, you will see at the bottom right the search volume for the keywords or term that you have used.

Keywords Everywhere Related Keywords

You will also find that at the top right of your browser, there are a list of related keywords compared to the keywords or term that you have used. You can use this to get more ideas for your evergreen content.

Visit Pinterest

Once you have determined that best keywords that are suitable for your evergreen blog articles, I’d highly recommend for you to visit Pinterest for some ideas.

Pinterest is a great place with huge database of evergreen topics. Just key on your chosen keywords and Pinterest will highlight to you so many types of topics you can write that focuses on your chosen keywords.

Optimize for SEO

The next thing you want to do is to create your evergreen content article in a way that is optimized for SEO. You can do this by ensuring that your images have alt text and that your main keywords are in your title, URL and your body copy. Do not overload your articles with too many of the same keywords. Choose a variation of different, but related keywords. You can also hyperlink other related evergreen articles in each of your articles so that your readers will continue to read your blog. This will increase their time on your blog, which will be good for your SEO too!

Create Content Suitable For Your Audiences (Beginners, Intermediate or Advanced)

In order to engage your audiences, you need to write your content in a way that relates to them. If you are targeting an audience with beginner knowledge to a specific topic, then write simple to understand articles that are suitable for beginners. On the other hand, if you are targeting audiences with intermediate or advanced knowledge in a specific topic, then you must write your articles according to their level of understanding. Doing this will ensure that you get to fully engage with your readers so that they will visit your blog again or support your products and services.

Avoid Jargons and Technical Terms

Unless you are writing for an audience that are used to jargons and technical terms, avoid using them at all times! This is because you will only frustrate your readers by using them. And if you have no choice but to use certain jargons and technical terms in your blog, then remember to explain to your readers what those words mean. It’s no use spending all that time writing articles that won’t be understood by your readers.

And so that’s it. Your complete guide to discovering topics for creating evergreen blog content that will help your business to grow. I hope that you found this article helpful.
